This 22 day accompanied tour is designed to include the iconic sights and treasures of China.
Your first night is spent in the air en-route to Beijing, where you will spend the next 4 nights in 4 star hotels.
Whilst in Beijing, you will enjoy a 3 to 4 hours escorted walk through Tiananmen Square and into the magnificent Forbidden City. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through the warren-like hutongs. Later, enjoy a visit to the Temple of Heaven.
The next day will start with a 2 hour coach ride to the Juyongguan Pass for a walk on the Great Wall of China. Later, visit the Jade Museum. In the afternoon, stroll through the Summer Palace.
On day six, a 2 hour flight from Beijing takes you to Xian, home of the Terracotta Warriors, where you will spend 2 nights. Previously known as Chang’an, Xian is home to some of China’s most diverse architecture and ancient sights.
Whilst in Xian you will visit the Wild Goose Pagoda, and enjoy a Tang Dynasty dancing show in the evening.
A 1 hour and 15 minute flight from Xian takes you to Wuhan. On arrival, you will have a 6 to 7 hours coach transfer to the docks near Yichang. Here you will board the Yangtze Cruise ship for a 4 night cruise on the Yangtze River. You will visit the Three Gorges Dam and pass through the Wu gorge and Qutang gorge. Visit Shibaozhai Temple and Fengdu.
On arrival at Chongquin, you will explore Ciqikou followed by a 4 to 5 hour coach transfer to Chengdu where you will spend 2 nights, giving you plenty of time to visit the Giant Pandas, at the the Panda Conservation Centre.
An early morning 1 hour flight from Chengdu, with take you to Guilin, one of China’s most stunning and panoramic cities, where you will spend 2 nights. Whilst you are here you will visit the Reed Flute Cave.
The next day, you will take a 4 hour cruise from Guilin, along the Li River to the village of Yangshuo, where you will spend 1 night.
A 2 hour flight from Guilin will take you to Shanghai where you will stay for 4 nights.
Your stay in Shanghai will include a 2 hour coach journey to neighbouring Suzhou, which is renowned for its gardens. Visit one of its finest, the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Cruise the Grand Canal.
Explore the ancient treasures of the Shanghai Museum in People’s Square. Enjoy an evening cruise on the Huangpu River.
Visit the peaceful Yu Garden, the old town, Pudong district, and the Silk Museum.
Your final day is spent in the air after departing Shanghai for London Heathrow.
